Gomez Named Portland Business Journal Executive of the Year

Jessica Gomez, founder and CEO of Medford-based Rogue Valley Microdevices, was recognized as an Executive of the Year this month by the Portland Business Journal.

The competitive award recognizes 10 top executives out of a field of nearly 100 candidates.

Gomez was the only honoree representing Southern Oregon or an electronics engineering firm.

“This is an incredible honor,” Gomez said. “I’m humbled to be one of the 12 Executives of the Year, which includes leaders from such a wide array of businesses and organizations throughout Oregon. It’s an impressive group.”

Winners were selected based on critical strategy, guidance and management that led to exceptional performance during 2019.

Gomez said the award also represents the hard work of the local business community, which has helped Southern Oregon become a more prominent business hub in the state.

“I am proud of Rogue Valley Microdevices and the contributions we have made to our industry over the past 16 years,” she said. “I’m thankful to be surrounded by a great team, hard-working employees and a supportive community.”

The Portland Business Journal honored its selections for the 10 Executives of the Year Feb. 13. The event included a series of on-stage interviews with the honorees, where they shared the strategies and philosophies that led to the best performances of the past year.
